SDMI backers want manufacturers to build a time-bomb trigger into their products that, when activated at a later date, would prevent users from downloading or playing non-SDMI-compliant music. The hardware would initially support MP3 and other compressed file formats, but a signal from the RIAA would activate the blocking trigger. Hardware and software developers that refuse to build in the switch would not have access to the SDMI specifications or the major-label music that will be made available when the specification is complete. Edig's MicroOS has been questioned as to why it's so important. In my opinion and of having decades of experience in the data processing, system design, & programming world, would be willing to bet that: By using Edig's MicroOs, this type of control could be programmed & put into place within a day. I'm really saying a day to be conservative... Minutes to hours would be more realistic. This only one example of the power it has... There is much much more. Controlling multiple formats would also be a snap. This is only my opinion... My source: My gut & brain. Enjoy...
