Was there any indication during CC about particular competitors in the MR and GMR arena, IBM, APM, Japanese companies, etc., and/or possible aquisition.

RDRT management indicated that while they respect IBM and the Japanese (TDK & ALPS), RDRT plans to be the tech leader in 1999. Management also indicated that their estimate of future revenue growth took into consideration the IBM/WDC deal. I have heard that there are quality problems with the IBM GMR heads and that the Japanese have asked RDRT for samples of RDRT's GMR heads.
There was no talk of an acquisition.
