Tim, I would be very interested in the distinction the author sees between "charlatans cynically exploiting desperate people with snake-oil" he condemns and Big Pharma he defends. The biggest difference I see is that snake oil is a natural substance, it can't kill or harm you, and if fact can help you greatly. Snake oil is rich in Omega 3 fatty acits, namely EPA that is very hard to come buy from sources other than cold water fish. Omega 3s have potent anti-inflamatory effect, which is an underlying cause of many diseases. On the other hand, products of Big Pharma - drugs, their prescriptions, mis-prescriptions and side effects kill Americans by 10s of thousand per year. Sign me up with the snake oil charlatans. Joe
