Sometimes I visit a site as a first-time visitor -- meaning I access it knowing absolutely nothing about the site.

I tried this for siliconinvestor.com, in a new browser instance, after clearing the cache, so there would be no residual info.

It opens up to the "STOCKTALK" tab. That's cool. It's a site that invites discussion about stocks.

Suggestion: open the page with the cursor in the "Quote" box.

I type "Google" into the "Quote" box, and it gives me a list of suggested entries. I click on "GOOGL". It takes me to the "MARKETS" tab for "Google, Inc. (NQ:GOOGL"). Cool. Info on the company I'm interested in.

Now, where's the discussion on Google? There doesn't appear to be any link on that page to pages that provide a discussion about Google. This IS a site that invites discussion about stocks, right?

OK, so I click on "STOCKTALK". Sounds like a reasonable thing to do, right? I want to chat/discuss/talk about Google, or at least see what other people are saying about it.

It sends me to a list of subjects. Right back where I started.

Suggestion: Put a link on the MARKETS page for Google to the page you get when you select "Google" from a "Search" box, like so:

siliconinvestor.com

Maybe that will make it easier for a new visitor to figure out what he's supposed to do to read the discussion of Google.

Note that Yahoo does what I'm suggesting, so it's not an original thought.

I guess that means I can't patent the idea. Bummer.

Sure is a pretty day.
