Hi abukhari,

Thanks for providing the "foolish" viewpoint on pooling vs. purchase accounting.

While I can see arguments on both sides, I am consistently amazed at the notion that technologies that are being obsoleted at an ever accelerating pace (in RF and FO components sometimes within 9 months to one year) should be amortized as goodwill over a period extending several decades. This aspect of the goodwill argument seems to fly in the face of reality.
