I am not a day trader either.

I bought EGRP last October at $ 17.00/share and sold half of my position on 4/1/99 at $ 55.00. Actually I wanted to sell it earlier, but due to tax reasons I took the gamble and delayed it into the new tax year.

I like your comparisons to a potential scenario of the big retail players as i.e. Walmart or Barnes&Noble - Bertelsman entering AMZN's turf. There is no question that this will happen very soon.

The question however is: How will the big players execute this. By building from scratch or by buying into established successful internet companies?

By giving yourself an answer to this question, I think you can give yourself a good outlook on what is going to happen to the AMZNs, EGRPs etc.
