What is a root inode and how does it differ from just a plain inode. I believe that a root inode is a spot in memory that points to data (other inodes) on a hard drive. I am guessing that with WAFL, these root inodes are not changed to point to new data until a much later date, thereby allowing the operating system to access these old root inodes (which point to previously changed / deleted data)... Was I close DS <g>? Justin
