First, that bill didn't make regulation go away. It modernized the rules to fit the realities of the financial markets. Washington doesn't always get the rules right, but in this case it did.

First, it blurred the line between MS banks and WS banks without requiring the WS banks to undergo the kind of regulation MS banks experience. Secondly, it was authored by three Republicans who oppose regulation.
