Its interesting how all the analysts came to the defense of CSCO. Who's hind end were they kissing here. They gratefully lowered their targets to 60 from 85, which is exactly 100% more than the current price. All this for a company that earns a real .11 cents a quarter, has never disappointed because they never made enough to disappoint. And we should all jump on CSCO with both feet because the PE now below a 100, a historic value that will never be seen again in our lifetimes. Haven't we heard this song before? But if you tell a story often enough and the ending is good enough and people want to believe in something, this is as goofy of a story as I have ever read.

Here are the phrases reported over and over from every web portal:

1) They are performing better than their peers.
2) With such high growth rates they deserve a high PE.
3) They are a true gorilla....... (the investors must be the monkeys)
4) They will return to greatness and a high growth rate. (does your house need a router?)
5) In two quarters everything will be OK (haven't we heard this from about 50 other companies?)
6) Ordinary metrics don't apply to CSCO because its a different kind of company.

Do any thread viewers or posters think that these same analysts will be as charitable when AMAT reports their big miss shortly ?

Jerome

note: I expect AMAT to see 80 long before CSCO is at 60.
