Jim, [edited] I had a reply all ready with links and all and the browser froze. Fear or greed? I don't feel either one because I'm out of OSX. Just own a little SLB, which isn't pure OSX. Again I compare to semi equips a year ago with "a very bright future ahead" and "this time is different because chip usage is so diversified now". AMAT is a proxy for that group stockcharts.com It's never different until it's different. The XLE chart you linked shows the same trading channel as OSX since last summer/fall.
