Speaking of the NYT, McCain and Fannie Mae.... Here's something from 5 years ago. New Agency Proposed to Oversee Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae query.nytimes.com. So was there ever a New Agency to oversee Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae? And of course everyone is probably now familiar of this: "I join as a cosponsor of the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005, S. 190, to underscore my support for quick passage of GSE regulatory reform legislation.
