ASML CFO Sees Consolidation In Semiconductor Sector - Report Last update: 12/3/2008 2:17:03 AMAMSTERDAM (Dow Jones)--ASML NV (ASML.AE) expects a wave of consolidation in the semiconductor sector next year, Peter Wennink, ASML's chief financial officer, says in an interview with financial daily Het Finanicieele Dagblad published Wednesday. Banks have more or less halted lending to the sector and as a result, a large number of already troubled chipmakers will go bankrupt, says Wennink. "The biggest players will become even larger," Wennink says pointing to Intel Corp. (INTC), Toshiba Corp. (6502.TO), TSMC (TSM) and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd. (005930.SE).
