Count me among those who care, Dee Jay. Errors such as you have described jump out at me from either the printed pages or the monitor. IMO they represent a certain degree of carelessness that speaks ill of the writer, and, perhaps as well, of any editors or other viewers who may have reviewed the material before it was finalized. In particular, if the material is an official company communication, it certainly conveys a negative image IMO.

The occasions just in SI of errors such as "there" when "their" is meant and "to" for "too" are legion. Another favorite of mine is "effect" when "affect" is intended, or vice-versa.

I take a certain amount of pride in my posts on the SI boards, and try hard to make them as accurate and clean as possible, including such things as quotes, clips, and links. While I am sure that an occasional error creeps in, I'm equally sure that my error percentage is way below most.
