FALLS CHURCH, Va. (Dow Jones)--General Dynamics Corp. (GD) agreed to acquire privately-held Digital System Resources Inc., a maker of surveillance and combat systems for submarines and surface ships.

Financial terms weren't disclosed.

In a press release Wednesday, General Dynamics said the acquisition will immediately add to earnings.

-Digital System is expected to post 2003 revenue of $125 million. General Dynamics reported revenue of $7.36 billion for the six months ended June 29.

The proposed transaction is subject to normal regulatory approvals and is expected to close within 60 days.
