I agree with you, however, the general concencus is that tha Fed will have to raise rates this year. The closer we get to November, the more the impact will be on the election. The Fed in known for its pre-emptive strikes, that's why I would not be suprised at a hike Tuesday. (Also, though rare, there have been rate hikes in presidential election years before)
