Scott; What he is doing is rallying the troops, like the old hero, 5 star general of a past war, not up to date on modern warfare can still tell rousing stories about how then went over the top in 19?? and beat them. And out go the troops and get shot to hell. Of course he will not act as CEO, the finance people do not trust him after Next, and so all he is good for is his iconic value. So he will get a nice office and buzz around and drop phrases redolent of past glory, intimating glory to come, sort of a superman, retired, cannot fly, cannot leap. He also is networked quite well, but he can destroy that very fast if he betrays any more friends like Netscape. A lot of people see that as base and crass, and he should at a minimum offered both.
