FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 25, 1999--BTG, Inc. (Nasdaq: BTGI - news), an information systems and technical services company, reported net income of $2.0 million and diluted earnings per share of $0.23 on revenue of $316 million for its fiscal year 1999, which ended March 31. BTG finished the year with a much improved and strengthened balance sheet.

Total debt at year end, including debt used to finance the acquisition of STAC, Inc., was less than $20 million, down from a peak of $115 million in the company's last fiscal year.

BTG President and CEO Ed Bersoff said he was very pleased with the results. ''I think we have made substantial progress over the past twelve months. We took a number of steps last year to return the company to profitable growth and the results show that these actions were effective. Fiscal year 1999 represented a significant transition for BTG. A year ago, we were predominantly a products company. Our forward business model today is that of a growth-oriented services company, focusing our efforts on growing markets where we can differentiate ourselves from our competitors.''
