qdog: AIPN oil will not be coming out of the ground for a good five years, by then todays nightmarish situation will be forgotten. I do no see a "sea" chnage in the economic environment, namely the addition of a at least 250 MM middle class consumers to the world economy over the next 10 years or so. This will drive the growth engines of the world. What we are seeing today is simply a middle course adjustment to over expansion in the rim countries. Within a year I think this overhanging capacity will be either closed down or absorbed.
