We will have another big electoral problem coming this fall if the republicans retain the House but the dems win the pop vote overall 52-48 as currently predicted. I think we might be headed for such a result. Part of it is just geography and there is little to do as small red states are overweighted and conservative voters are more widely dispersed in states and thus can win more seats. But some of it is attributable to gerrymandering by the party in power for the last 12 years. In any case there will be an outcry if this occurs.
