OT what's the difference between now and last fall.

the Asian crisis seems all but over :
- Moody downgrades Japan
- Kospi and won are reeling again
consider the following, from Korean Herald
"By late afternoon, the won was trading at
1,448 won to the dollar, down from the previous
day's closing of 1,413,
off the day's low of 1,463. The benchmark three-year
bond yield inched up 0.08 percentage point to 18.3 percent.

The composite stock prices tumbled
steadily throughout the day, as investors
were concerned about the U.S. credit
ratings agency Moody's slash in Japanese banks' standings to ''negative.''

The slash will likely entail the banks
calling in loans which they have
given to firms, both in and out of Japan,
including those in Korea. Investors
are worried that this will prompt
a currency crisis, even bigger than that at the
end of last year. "

Meanwhile the DOW is flirting 9000 and
European stock markets are setting new highs
everyday, swamped with fresh liquidity.

Does that make sense ?
