SUM of "MP3's DEATH"

People don't care about royalties, people don't care about recording companies, and only a few actually care about the artists themselves with their $10 million homes. Those who download MP3 care about FREE music. Until the music companies bring in a new market segment who is somewhat unfamiliar with MP3, then MP3 is likely to be around for awhile. And having a device that has a timed feature where it will not allow non-protected formats is a good way to scare away consumers. Once consumers hear this, they will be thrown into a technological frenzy which most will not understand how to deal with. As a response, they'll simply remove themselves as a potential customer. DIVX v. DVD is a small example ("small" simply b/c DIVX was such a flop it did not have much impact on DVD b/c DVD was already somewhat established with those who care to buy such players.)
