I don't think this conclusion is accurate. Lots of American expatriates have kids born overseas, and I think those kids are "natural born citizens". My kids are both born outside the US, and are entitled to US passports and US citizenship as a result of my US citizenship.

I think natural born citizen is opposed to a naturalized citizen, someone who was born with a non-US nationality, and immigrated to the US and went through the citizenship process.

But it is fun to watch Trump pound the table on this issue, as silly as it may be.
