Yep. What did your scoffing neighbor say about the CIA vetting and assurances to GWB and the Congress about WMDs being in Iraq.

That the data was being cherry-picked and the political pressure was on the CIA director to give his couched support. He followed the whole build-up to war and thought it smelled. We've talked about this a lot actually, and he has said it didn't surprise him or most of his colleagues at the time that no WMD was found. He said he was willing to give Bush the benefit of the doubt, that in spite of the failure to gather enough data re WMD, the Bush team still had a compelling case for the war. Of course, that didn't really work out either.

I know you'll claim he's a partisan, so don't bother going there. He's a Rep and voted for Bush...McCain, too.
