700 Billion would be a helluva down payment for a real health system. One of a thousand or so reasons to oppose the bail out.

There are about 160 million homes in the US. Less than 100 million with mortgages, and about 3% in foreclosure. So for 700 billion you can give each person about to forclose over $200,000. It's also enough to start another Iraq/Afganistan war.
