Hi Bill, Ostriches can ignore the bond pit from time to time, but Congress makes them nervous.

I image that today's market action may to some extent reflect concerns about Congress's attempt to run through a fiscal stimulus package before lessoning to Allen Greenspan. The concept of paying off debt is so new to them; they must think it is un-American. Even though I believe technology and necessity will continue to increase
productivity, how uniform these increases will be; what our sustainable growth rate will be; and the accuracy of projected tax receipts remains in question. The issue seems not only premature but also inappropriate in our present excess liquidity situation. Whenever a final package is agreed upon, it would best be a multifaceted plan for the future, including focus on reducing wage pressures, and in total have a relatively neutral stimulus effect on the economy. IMHO
