Yesterday CNN sent a crew to one part of Alaska on the Bering Straight where the Russian coast can be seen just a few hundred feet away. Palin apparently wanted to remind people that her National Guard is the first line of defense at our border with Russia.

They have to come across by boat? No wonder the defense budget is under water..

You should have seen the Alaskans in this small village throwing big bags of garbage into the Bering Strait......something you would never see in the lower 48.

And this shantytown village.........you would not know you were in the US. It looks more like Brazil/Rio than the US.
