Semantics really. Standing by itself, the first statement can imply that companies with earnings don't get hit because they were not mentioned. You and I know differently, I was just (unusually) exercising a little fiduciary comment for the potential newbe investor reading the thread, they may not know.

Of course this begs the question, "What type of new investor would be crazy enough to invest in such a risky company?"
