Just as we got rid of polio, smallpox, rabies, etc...we will get rid of violence.
Even if we do get rid of violence (and I consider that very unlikely) it won't be "Just as we got rid of polio, smallpox, rabies, etc", they are very different things. The analogy is fairly useless.
If you look at this trajectory, how long do you think it will take before all wars between nations will be eliminated?
Maybe never, or maybe when there are no more living creatures that can act violently. Certainly not any time soon, not in a year or 100 years.
