Keith: A few of us have done some selective buying BUT we are in the minority...Unfortunately, the Big Money Managers (and Hedge Fund Managers) often speak out of both sides of their mouths and have weak stomachs...Many of these guys have have been selling BIG TIME....They also often have been shorting the market (wouldn't it be neat if the trading records for the last week of the top 1000 Funds would be published on The Wall Street Journal Website <G>...Now, that won't ever happen)...The Big Money Managers are often like sheep and are clearly worried right now...Yet, did the average American put their 401k Money and additional investments in Funds where the managers are betting against our system OR raising tons of cash? Many of the largest U.S. Funds have record quantities of cash...If investors wanted to be in cash in a big way they could do that on their own -- money market accounts don't charge those wonderful management fees that the OVERpaid Mutual Fund managers make no matter what kind of performance they deliver.

You can tell I may be a little frustrated...I did give up using mutual funds several years ago. In this turbulent environment (what some may call a Perfect Storm) it may be prudent to have a cash cushion. Oh well, we'll ride out the storm but it just may take some time.

Regards,

Scott
