TECHNOLOGIES AND PROBABILITIES OF SUCCESS: That is the essence of the GTR. Beancounters, nitpickers, daytraders, short players, option gamblers, high margin "bet their own house" crazies, quick buck artists, and various other crybabies will never be happy. The number one mistake Gilder bashers make is that they presume most readers of the GTR are simply helpless sheep, unable to engage in any independent analysis or thoughts apart from the GTR. Gilder has in fact developed world class expertise in one specialized area, that being technology prognostication. He simply presents rational well thought out arguments suggesting which technology and companies presenting those technologies - have a higher probability of success over the longer term. SORRY THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES. Valuation of stock price is not his issue nor his expertise, and neither are the other 98 or so other issues effecting the final buy/no buy decision.
