Yes, indeed you can use the DOS copy command for all CD-RW and some CDR which support and have packet writing software installed. Win98 will probably have UDF built-in which make jobs much easier for non CDR/CDRW owner.

you are right that CD-RW and Jaz and Zip are used for different purpose respectively but you are wrong on that CDR and CD-RW is less reliable than Zip and ???Jaz???.

If you don't want to wait for the 4X writer price to drop, consider the HP 7110, Philips CDD36100 for IDE or Ricoh 6200S for SCSI.
