RESEARCH ALERT-Morgan Stanley starts Sun Microsystems NEW YORK, March 23 (Reuters) - Morgan Stanley said Friday it has started coverage of Sun Microsystems (NasdaqNM:SUNW - news) with a neutral rating. No further details were immediately available on the firm's views. The stock closed Thursday at $18-7/8. On March 12 Sun shares traded at $16-1/2, their lowest price since August 1999. Thirteen months later, in September 2000, the shares reached their all time high of $64-11/16.
