A pretty accurate assessment of them, generally. Reflexively liberal. The conservatives or libertarians among them often take issue with their emotion based assumptions, mostly to no avail. One gets that polite smile and distant look in the eyes.

The group here is split, with the secular humanists meeting early, discussing issues of the day (still with a heavy liberal bias), with the main body meeting later to contemplate the birds in the sky and the fish in the stream. They tolerate each other. Each feels superior to the other for whatever reason. People are like that, even when they're trying not to be.
