M3 Initiates Research Coverage on Cabec Energy
Corporation

Research and Investment Banking Firm to Assist in Oil and Gas Acquisitions

DALLAS, Dec. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Cabec Energy Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: CBNR -
news) today announced that Dallas-based venture capital and institutional research firm, M3, Inc.,
has initiated research coverage on Cabec Energy with a buy recommendation. The research report,
dated December 3, 1997, can be accessed on Cabec's website at cabec.com and at
ppplastic.com.

Devin Slager, the M3 analyst who wrote the Cabec report, said, ''In addition to initiating formal
research coverage on Cabec, we have also taken an equity position in the company as an expression
of our commitment. We look forward to working closely with Ralph Curton, chairman, and the
management team in evaluating potential business combinations which will include opportunities in
the oil and gas industry.

''M3 is particularly interested in the potential of Cabec's recent merger with Dallas-based Plastic
Pallet Productions, Inc. (PPP),'' he said. ''We have tremendous confidence in the PPP team, and its
president, Michael John. With the acquisition of PPP, Cabec will be well-positioned to capitalize on
two rapidly growing industries: oil and gas and logistics services.''

Ralph Curton, Jr., chairman and president of Cabec, said, ''Mike Pickens, president of M3, has
built a company with an excellent industry reputation and institutional following, and we are fortunate
to have their support. Through our association with M3, Cabec will receive skilled expertise from a
significant force in the financial community. Mr. Pickens and his associates possess extensive
experience in energy analysis. They have worked with a number of major Wall Street firms that have
provided services for well-known industry investors.

''We are pleased with the recognition Cabec is beginning to garner in the investment community,'' he
said. ''In addition to M3's investment in Cabec, Wisteria Corporation, a privately held investment
firm, has also taken an equity position in the company.''

Cabec Energy Corporation, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, is a diversified holding company
focusing on opportunities primarily in oil and gas related industries, and material handling, platforms,
and logistic services. Cabec has announced plans to acquire Plastic Pallet Productions, Inc. later this
month. PPP manufactures high-pressure, injection-molded plastic pallets made from high-density
polyethylene (HDPE) and has several U.S. and international patents pending on its unique pallet
systems.

This release may contain forward-looking statements that involve risks and uncertainties which are
detailed from time to time in the company's financial statements and SEC filings.
