Bill, I've been working with options for about 2 months. In Aug I sold the 32.5 VVUS expecting to get called out. It didn't go that high. I bought the Dec 30's for 2 1/4 on 8/18. Last week I sold the Oct 30's for 1 7/8, (I cought the peak on the sell and the low on buy by accident). Herm & Spot both posted about Bollinger Bands. I did a little reserch, orderd the book, (which I'm still waiting for), and made my decissions as to when and what to buy and sell. (Hey....maybe the buy and sell weren't accidential, maybe I learned something.)

No one ever knows when an unexpected event can move a stock, but by using the tools availabe, charts, graphs, etc., you can eliminate some of the risk and raise the odds in your favor. What does AMD graph look like?

I have found the most valuable lesson Steve teaches is PATIENCE!!!!! I've reacted rashly and paid the price and have sat and waited and been rewarded handsomely.

One last thing, you have to ask yourself why you invest. I would like to enhance my spendable income (and maybe buy a spell checker.) I have to learn more about taking small gains by selling and buying back in on dips.
