"The issue of reinforcements is a politically sensitive one for the administration. Defense
Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld and his top aides have refused to back down from their criticism
of Gen. Eric K. Shinseki, the former Army chief of staff, who said in February that it could take
"something on the order of several hundred thousand soldiers" to stabilize Iraq."

I think BOTH sides of the aisle have to be careful here, and remember the things that are important: the security of our troops, and the mission. If Rumsfeld resists sending (possibly necessary) reinforcements due to political reasons, he is unfit. If Democrats create an environment that makes sending the reinforcements 'politically impossible', then they are ALSO endangering our troops.

Our guys are there, let's give 'em what they need and get the job done, and bring them home.
