So they can sell more media at $33 apiece. For the same price as a Zip Plus ($199), you'll get a drive that is not only faster, but has 10 times the capacity. I think it is a good idea to keep the capacity at a nice round figure like 1 Gigabyte. It puts a solid mental image in people's head about the product. And the low cost of the media (compared to Iomega's Jaz or Zip) makes it a viable alternative to backing up to tape.

Syquest has gotten it's butt kicked the last two years. But sometimes you gotta get knocked down before you can get back up and land a knockout punch. Syquest SparQ is a roundhouse haymaker to the jawbone.
