Here is a message forum describing a similar SK43G Shuttle XPC problems, it even tells you how to update the BIOS. I would only update the BIOS after making sure there was not another problem though. This forum message is worth reading right through to get an idea of where the problem could be.

For the problem in the WinFlash Program... Disable the Protect BIOS feature in the bios (or write protect) .. it comes on by default (the new bios has it off)
