Some select biotech stocks gained 12 to 38%: Biotechnology stocks in general were little changed over the week ending 11-7-03. The AMEX Biotechnology Index (BTK) decreased 0.20%, while the BioBizNet Select Index (BBNSI) gained 0.50%. However, it was a week that favored selective stock picking as several stocks in the BBNSI soared between 12 and 38% for the week. Big gainers were STEM, VIFL, HEB, others (see biobiznet.com).
