Sounds like ZE is right in the thick of things. Think for a second, INTC and MSFT want to develop interactive DTV content. They specifically mention the high-bandwidth of HDTV coming soon and being exactly what they need. If this "interactive content" is broadcast, ZE will get a VSB royalty. It is clear: INTC and MSFT need ZE to bring a speedy implementation of the PCI card demodulator to the market. This product will generate a lot more excitement than the HDTV's which have received lukewarm reception due to the initial cost. I believe that ZE and INTC are working on a cable modem version of the card that will handle all formats as well. VSB cards will be affordable and available to the common man immediately upon release. This is a bonanza. It also provides a high degree of brand name support for ZE when the prices drop on the TV's. People will be comfortable buying ZE sets. These alliances are crucial to ZE's brand recognition in the future DTV age. The quickest implementation of DTV transmission could be the VSB standard. It probably behooves INTC and MSFT to get the ball rolling with their PC DTV tuner card idea. We saw it at CES and we read it in the quote from the MSNBC conference last week. MITEL is pushing for convergence and we need to be part of it. I don't think this will cannibalize HDTV sales due to the small size of PC monitors. Maybe in the future, there will be affordable high-resolution plasma displays hooked to your PC that will do a better job doubling as a TV display. For now, I do not expect any cannibalization. In fact, I would expect people to want to get a really big HDTV after seeing how good it looks on their computer!

Just some thoughts,

Scott
