J. Saf,

I assume you mean that Corey at least can hit the pamper?

Cyndi's article shows several things......

1. There is a national law that requires states to adopt and implement biometric driver's licences....that use fingerprints.

2. The forces of Ratman must go state to state...battle to battle.....rather than a big push at the federal level. They will not be able to win the war...IMO.

3. Fingerprinting is the biometrics of choice.

4. Ratman will be our friend on this issue.....as they will not be able to kill the program.....and will turn their attention to pattern recognition vs. minutia.

Smart Cards...........

The card companies can use the biometric authentication feature of smart cards as a plus for the product.......The spin of safety and security will be welcomed by 98% of the cardholders.....Like any product...the company must get the right message to the consumer.

The 2% of the public who just see the mark of the beast......can use cash......or go hide in the mountains.....in Montana or somewhere.

The Driver's licence deal may need to use minutia......for criminal and driver's record searches......I believe the scaning of the licence will be done in the field....with officers having results back in just a minute or two. The idea is to be able to identify the criminal status of individuals when they are stopped......and perhaps arresting the ones who are wanted for serious crimes that are unrelated to a traffic stop.
