Actually, I would assume Intel's plan was to maximize profits - which they have done - and if a temporary market share loss in the low-profit zone was called for, then they did plan on it.

Meanwhile, Intel's Celeron execution seems well orchestrated and they will be taking back market share from AMD in the coming quarters. Remember - 8 million Celerons will ship this quarter - and that will play havoc with AMD's bottom line.

That must keep Sanders awake at nights.
