Let's not forget that the Sony HiFD was a *TECHNOLOGY* announcement
and there were reports from someone at COMDEX (wrote about on the
MF threads, I believe) that the drive would only (as of then) write
60 Mb (something of that order) and the 1.44 compatibility wasn't
demonstrated.

I fully recognize that the above info is from OTHER people's write-ups and is not intended to be documented FACT.
