My sphere of people includes many who are just investors. My auld man was a grain trader in Ireland, when traders just made an average living.

He was absolutely livid when he bought Sperry Rand once at 18 and sold at 63 just to see the stock go to 65 before tanking. He could not understand why he did not get out at 65.

He was a good guy but definitely whacked.

Anyway, I just disregard all the average guys. The skilled ones I listen to, but they play it much closer to the vest. Everyone else is in it for the long haul or writing puts or some other stupid stuff. We shall see in the fullness of time what the appropriate measure will have been.
