re"Maybe if MSFT has good earnings"

There's that word again, maybe. Before I buy a stock the first thing I check is earnings date. Stocks will usually run up to the earnings day on expectations, MSFT did'nt even do that this time. Trader's very seldom hold through earnings because they've found if they own say, 8-9 stocks, one will come out afterhours with bad news, earnings warning or government investagation, and the stock could open 30 - 40 points lower, whatever, the next day. I've seen many stocks take this kind of hit and the investor will be stuck before they can get out. I'm not saying this will happen to msft, just that in general I do not hold through earnings. JH
