Yeah, I know what you mean. For many years I actually looked forward to the first snow and the start of winter. I played hockey, and back then we still played a good percentage of the time on outdoor rinks.

My family has a cabin in northern Minnesota and we spent many a weekend up there snowmobiling. There are even quite a few nice slopes where you can go skiing. They aren't incredibly huge runs like you find in the mountains in Vail or Aspen, but they are long enough to have a great time and then have a hot toddy by the fire when we were done. I loved it.

But as I got older it became more and more of a pain in the butt. It gets old fast when you go outside and have to remove a few inches of snow from your car before you can go anywhere. I first came to Florida for more than just a vacation when I was 22. Went home a couple of seasons in the summer for visits but soon just stayed year round and I do enjoy the nice tropical weather!! Now, the closest I get to snow is hearing about about it over the phone from a friend of family member.
