Sunspot, Why don't we just let the government define all the standards so that 1) There are standardized interfaces to deal with fridge, microwave, tv, light bulbs, cars etc. 2) Oh wait, why don't we standardize on a common language mandated by the government ? 3) But wait, let's all be commies in the name of standardization and interop.... Europeans are behind in technology and they just want to create obstacles in the way of american business. That's all...
