Actually, they split twice in 96. The Afterthoughts folks are in no shape to buy a new pair of shoes, much less CLE. If anything, CLE would buy Afterthoughts off Woolworth's hands. However, Glen Canary has made it clear that they were more interested in Afterthoughts some time ago, but no so much now. I suspect Woolworth will just give up on that dog sooner or later. They have made it clear that they are not that interested in that segment of their biz, anyway. (see, it helps to talk to the company reps.) The UPS strike DID have an impact on CLE but I suspect they will meet their estimates anyway. If you understand the biz, then you will understand why the strike impacted them. If you don't understand the biz, I wouldn't invest here either. B.
