<<Finally got the scoop on thawing a turkey, glad I checked. Here it is for anyone who needs it:>>

I've always thawed my turkeys in harm to hot water. Ya, ya I know. But I'm not letting the bird lounge in a jacuzzi either. I fill the sink with hot tap water and keep it running. I keep filling the cavity and emptying it. Both from the rear and front. Reach in and yank the frozen necks out and reach in the front and get the gut package. Takes about 5 minutes on a 10 pound bird so if the bacteria grow in the warmth they better grow quick as I am preheating the oven at the same time. Next year - tips on thawing with propane.
