Ceo's of Chrysler and GM have cut their Q1 production 26 and 21 %.That isn't exactly pulling the techs out.

I don't argue your point about tunnel vision on the NAZ.

I do think that durables were saying what semi's are just now becoming aware of. There is a lot of capacity out there,and it's idle because there is even more inventory in the stuffed channels of distribution.

I think all of industry pushed production at the end of 2000 to make a great bonus - it's payback time. It ain't pretty and hoping for Uncle Al to make everybody feel better still won't unclog huge inventories.Reduced production and time with reduced prices will get us there.

2001 will be an ugly year because it will start out in the hole.Even a recovery will be painted by a negative start - ALL YEAR LONG.
